family faith formation program 2023-2024: Our journey, our mission

Family Faith Formation began September 10!

Registration for our Family Faith Formation program is now open for the 2023-2024 academic year. The program will be in person and you can register by clicking the button below. Our next parish session will be on December 10 at 8:15 AM.

The Catholic Church teaches that parents are the first catechists to their children. This is why our program includes the formation of the parents. Parents receive adult formation sessions that are open to any member of the parish. Our pastor, Father Juan Manuel, will speak with us at our seventh parish session on December 10.

Students and parents will meet twice a month at Sacred Heart (Parish Sessions), as well as in their homes (Home Sessions) using materials that will be sent home at Parish Sessions.

Parish Sessions run from 8:15 AM to 10:00 AM on Sunday—with the invitation for the family to stay for Mass, and are divided in three parts:

8:15 AM-8:40 AM Breakfast—we believe that sharing a meal creates community among the families.

8:40 AM-9 AM Family Activity (group learning, all ages together)

9 AM -10 AM Age Appropriate Instruction (children go to their grades and parents stay with other parents for the Adult Formation Session.)

10 AM We join the Parish's Sunday Mass

Christmas Service learning project

Please join us in packing 50 meal boxes for clients of St. Vincent de Paul. These gifts ensure that families have a Christmas meal to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Through service learning projects, we learn to see the world outside of ourselves, and care for each other and our common home.

Items needed (x50) are:

Cans of green beans, corn, sweet potatoes, Cream of Mushroom Soup, canned fruit

Boxes of stuffing, brown sugar, cake mix, cookies or candy, crackers, cheesy or scalloped potatoes, and noodles or rice

Applesauce

Frosting

The faith formation families will be packing the boxes on December 10. To volunteer with setup for this project, contact the parish office.

parish activities booklet

Complete activities in this booklet to receive points from Family Faith Formation. Points can be exchanged for prizes throughout the year. Students up to 6th grade have a goal of 20 points for the year. Students in 7th grade through the high school class aim for 25, and Confirmation students have a goal of 30 points for the year. Exchanging points for prizes does not take points away from the total. Year end prizes will also be given for points and volunteer hours.

entry point (RCIA)

"Come and see." -Jesus

Entry Point is for those who want to discern becoming a Catholic. At Sacred Heart we have a team approach to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA.) This program will be adapted for adult Catholics who have not received Confirmation or First Communion.
