Faith formation 2024-2025

Faith Formation at Sacred Heart, St. John Nepomuk, & St. Joseph:

June 20, 2024

Dear Parents,

Summer Blessings to all of you. I am grateful for your hard work and commitment to helping your children grow in their faith journey. I know this is a challenging task, especially with your many activities and obligations. Praise the Lord for your desire to share the faith with them. Please know my prayers for you as you navigate the beautiful task of being parents. This effort to form your children in faith is an excellent investment for their future as adults. This year, we are beginning a collaboration journey in the Catholic Church in Racine. As a result of this collaboration, we want to expand your opportunities to provide faith formation for your children. This year, we will offer you two options: a family-based catechetical program and a children-focused program.

In Sacred Heart:

Family Formation is a family-based catechetical program that helps families grow in the transforming love of God by understanding and living the Catholic Faith. The program has three parts:

We start with the Family Program: Parents and children share breakfast and participate in a lesson plan/program that fosters learning about the Catholic Faith in ways that speak to all age groups,

After the Family Program, the children follow the Catechists to classrooms for instruction with their peer groups.

Parents are encouraged to stay for the Adult Formation portion of the program, which is open to all parishioners. Next year, we’ll explore how people in our time are becoming saints by looking at the lives of contemporary saints and practical ways to maintain a Christian home.

This is a great way to spend quality time with your children while growing in faith.

In Saint Joseph and Saint John Nepomuk:

We do a traditional religious education program, which is that we teach based on the grade levels.

We have Kindergarten through 10th Grade:

Kindergarten through 5th Grade: The traditional Yearly Curriculum is Grade-Level appropriate, with the added curriculum of Feast Days and saints.

Middle School & High School (6th-10th Grade): Have a Curriculum based on the weekly Sunday Gospel, with the added Feast Days & Saints curriculum.

These two programs are a good opportunity for you to choose and find what suits your needs best to form your children in the faith. My prayers to you as you continue to fulfill your commitments as parents to form your children in faith.

Blessings,

Fr. Juan M Camacho
